BFARP Community Sporting Event: Bowling & Mini Golf Strike Zone
On Saturday, March 30th, AFCAS, under the Black Faces Anti-Racism Project (BFARP), hosted an exciting evening of bowling and mini golf at Strike Zone. While the games were played among our Black community members, the event took place in a shared public space, creating an atmosphere of cultural visibility, openness, and coexistence.
It was an evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and genuine connection. From strikes to surprise hole-in-ones, the event gave attendees a chance to unwind, build relationships, and enjoy being in a space that was both inclusive and empowering.
We’re proud to share that the event sparked new interest in our work; five new members joined AFCAS that evening, with some already committing to volunteer and support future projects.
This gathering reminds us that community can be nurtured in many forms, and sometimes, all it takes is a game, a smile, and a shared lane to start meaningful conversations.
